Ethan Schovanek

Undergraduate: Honours

Ethan is in his final year of a BSc. in Microbiology at the University of Victoria and is currently an Honours Student in the Cameron Laboratory. His project focuses on T. pallidum‘s ability to encode antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) that are effective against bacteria found in proximity of invading T. pallidum, specifically frequently co-infecting pathogen Neiserria gonorroeae. Ethan has a strong interest in pathogens and disease and hopes to pursue a career in infectious disease medicine in the future.
