Brigette Church

Graduate Student

After 7 years as an acute care nurse Brigette went back to UVic to finish her microbiology degree and pursue her passion for studying infectious disease with a focus on how pathogen invasion and evasion strategies affect the host response.  Her background in neuroscience gives her a particular interest in T. pallidum which readily crosses the blood brain and other protective barriers.  She utilizes human cell lines and platelets to investigate T. pallidum pathogenesis and the host response.
